ABUJA: President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, signed the new National Minimum wage into law.
The minimum wage is now N30,000 from N18,000 and the implementation starts immediately.
President Buhari who signed the bill into law at the State House, took to his Twitter handle @MBuhari, to make the announcement.
He said, “I signed the New National Minimum Wage Bill into Law today at the State House, eight years after the last review.
“I would like to express gratitude to everyone who contributed to this very important task, and reiterate our commitment to the welfare of all Nigerians”, the President ended.
The new law affects all workers in the country.
