The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, is dead.
The Sight News gathered that he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
Recall that the deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President, Garba Shehu, made the announcement on his Twitter handle @GarShehu by Midnight.
He said, “The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.
“The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
“May God accept his soul.Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly”, he said.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have reacted to his tweet, kicking against the funeral arrangement plans, which they say is wrong, considering that he may have died as a result of COVID-19.
A Twitter user @odun42000 said, “Which funeral arrangements? Shey they don’t use to release their dead body?”
Another one @wale-of-pluto said, “There should be no funeral arrangements sir! These are extraordinary times. Don’t endanger others”.
