Bangladesh Embassy in Khartoum Celebrates 72nd Birthday of Shaheed Capt. Sheikh Kamal

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Khartoum has organized programs on the occasion of the 72nd birth anniversary of Shaheed Capt. Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. 

The valiant freedom fighter’s birthday was celebrated at the chancery Thursday, August 5, 2021 in the presence of members of the community and Embassy officials. 

According to a statement by Mohammad Shah Ekramul Hoque, the program commemorates the life and works of Shaheed Capt. Sheikh Kamal and special dowa and munajat were offered for the salvation of his soul, peace and prosperity of the country. 

A video on his life and accomplishments was also presented before the audience. 

In his speech, the Charge d’ Affaires highlighted the contribution of Shaheed Capt. Sheikh Kamal in the independence war and in developing sports and cultural infrastructure in a newly born country. 

He paid rich tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of the country, Bangladesh. 

About 35 expatriate Bangladeshis attended the program organized at the chancery which was rented and the event was the first one to be held in the chancery that was rented only a day before. 

The community members expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for opening a resident mission in Khartoum and were proud of attending the first ever official program in the Bangladesh Embassy in Khartoum.
