Calabar: It was a show of expertise, mastery and skilfulness on the wheels, Friday, December 27, 2019, at the Carnival Calabar bikers parade which had about 300 motorcycle riders from 32 countries in participation.
The Parade had bikers doing “Wonders on Wheels” to the cheers and admiration of spectators who could not get enough of the actions.
The Cross River State Governor, Prof Ben Ayade, while flagging off the bikers parade at the millennium park, along the Murtala Mohammed Highway Calabar, called on the people to expect spectacular performances from the parade.
Most of the bikers who were on ground, took the opportunity to showcase what they are made of, even as the bikers parade had four biker’s clubs; Tinapa Motorcycle Club, Red Scorpion King, Metallic Knights Motorcycle Club and Aviators Motorcycle Club.
The parade which also featured parade of porsche cars and power bikes along the carnival route, had the bikers led by Governor Ben Ayade and the former Governor of the state Governor Donald Duke and several eminent personalities taking part in the parade.
In the heat of the moment, one of the act which had a biker and a younger lady on display, won the heart of Governor Ayade, who gifted the lady the cash sum of N100,000.
The parade also featured dance competitions, where the best dancers went home with cash prizes too.
Amongst other dignitaries in attendance were the Bangladesh High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Md. Shameen Ahsan, his wife and daughter.
Other activities which took place on the Day includes; the Miss Africa Pageant Grand Finale; Brass Band Concert; Calabash Concert and more.
