ABAKALIKI: South East zonal PDP, says it is united and formidable to win the forthcoming general elections.
This is just as it debunked the rumour making the round in some quarters, that some South East Governors are not giving their total support to the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The PDP zonal vice chairman, Chief Austin Umahi, debunked the rumour, while fielding questions from journalists after their zonal meeting held at the Party’s zonal office Enugu, to fine-tune activities, ahead of the Tuesday zonal rally scheduled to hold at Owerri, Imo state.
He described the insinuation as a social media propaganda. “It is not about social media propaganda, we are talking about the scorecard, and very soon, it will be shown to you”.
Chief Umahi, who affirmed that the PDP South East zone are in total support of Atiku Abubakar as their presidential candidate and Peter Obi as the vice, assured that the PDP South East has remained a united family that is quite formidable, and have demonstrated that in all the PDP affairs in the zone.
“Just to tell you how serious and organise we are. You can see that the deputy Senate president was here, the governor of Ebonyi State was here, the governor of Enugu state was here, because of late flight, Abia state governor was not here.
“That goes a long way to tell you how united, formidable, South East PDP is. It also shows how organised we are. I am sure it never happened in other zones to have a pre-rally meeting well attended. Those fabricating crises will be put to shame, because, there is no crises, no division in our Party”.
On the zonal rally scheduled for Tuesday this week at Owerri, Umahi, said, every arrangement has been made, and it is going to be mother of all rallies as it will teach other zones in the country how to hold rallies. He described South East as the home of PDP.
