The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) hereby states that its maintenance crew is working assiduously to rectify a fault on the 33kV NIPP feeder at the Kubwa 132/33kV Transmission Substation.
The feeder tripped at 9:39am on Sunday, 20th September, 2026, on earth fault. The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) maintenance team patrolled the feeder and certified it okay for restoration, a statement by the Company’s management noted.
It, however, noted that in an attempt to restore the feeder at 6:34pm, it tripped again on overcurrent and earth fault, resulting in a shattered blue phase interrupter head of the feeder circuit breaker.
Consequently, AEDC has been unable to off-take bulk power for its customers in FO1, Dantata Estate, Byazhin, Byazhin Across, and Gbazango.
TCN regrets any inconveniences caused by the outage and assures that power supply will be restored as soon as repair work on the breaker is completed.
