The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is celebrating two outstanding sporting achievements by its officers, who have brought honour to the Service and the nation on the global and continental stage.
ASI 1 Azeez Moridiyyah Motunrayo emerged World Champion and Gold Medallist in the W50 Masters Javelin event at the ongoing World Masters Athletics Championships in South Korea, a feat that underscores her exceptional talent and dedication to sporting excellence.
In a similarly historic achievement, ASI Kayode Ajilore led Nigeria’s Continental Beach Volleyball team to a landmark double victory at the African Beach Volleyball Continental Championship. The team clinched Nigeria’s first-ever continental title in the sport and, in doing so, secured the country’s first-ever Olympic qualification ticket in Beach Volleyball, booking a place at the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
The Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nana-Nandap, on behalf of the officers and personnel of the Service, congratulated both officers on their remarkable accomplishments, describing them as a source of immense pride to the Nigeria Immigration Service and the nation at large.
She noted that their achievements reflect the spirit of excellence, dedication, resilience, and national pride that continues to define the Service’s officers and representatives on the world stage.
