Nigeria’s High Commissioner-Designate to Kenya, with concurrent accreditation to Somalia, Ambassador Danlami Ibrahim, has presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Ibrahim presented the credentials during a ceremony at Villa Somalia in Mogadishu, where he conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to President Mohamud.
The envoy reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Somalia, stressing the readiness of the two countries to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
He identified security and counter-terrorism, trade and investment, education, diaspora management and culture as key areas where Nigeria is prepared to deepen collaboration with Somalia.
The engagement underscores Nigeria’s continued efforts to strengthen its diplomatic relations and cooperation with Somalia, particularly in areas critical to regional peace, economic development and people-to-people ties.
