The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, has presented Letters of Credence to Nigeria’s Ambassadors and High Commissioners-designate to Trinidad and Tobago, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea and Egypt.
The presentation, which took place on Monday, June 22, 2026, followed the receipt of agrément from the respective host countries, confirming their acceptance of the diplomats as Nigeria’s principal representatives.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that of the 69 ambassadors appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 63 agréments have so far been received from countries to which the envoys have been posted. The figure includes approvals from India and South Africa.
According to the ministry, many of the affected ambassadors have already departed for their respective countries to begin their diplomatic assignments.
The ministry expressed optimism that the remaining host countries would soon communicate their acceptance of the ambassadors-designate, thereby strengthening and consolidating Nigeria’s cordial diplomatic relations with those nations.
