In a bid to revolutionise the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) and to ginger up postal service operation in the country, the Postmaster General/ CEO of NIPOST, Barr. Bisi Adegbuyi has launched 95 Power Bikes for the last mile delivery.
Barrister Adegbuyi, said the bikes have necessary scanners that is connected to IMPC track and trace applications in Lagos state.
The NIPOST management made this disclosure in a statement signed by the general manager for corporate affairs,Mr Franklin Alao .
According to the postmaster general, the introduction of the Power Bikes will bring more customers to the Postal service.
“It will create wealth and reduce poverty in people’s lives because the items from abroad will be delivered to them in good time” .
The postmaster general also commended President Muhammadu Buhari for creating involvement of Private companies and Government partnership scheme, adding that “NIPOST’s strength lies in its last mile delivery. Our organization is measured with this yardstick of fast, safe Mail delivery”
He further noted that the bikes will accelerate postal service in every part of the country.”With the commencement of work by our Postmen tomorrow with these bikes, customers will have exciting experiences. The public are in for pleasant surprises from NIPOST”.
He reinstated that launching of the bikes was hinged on proper addressing system, digital and hyper specific web applications.
In the same vein, the Post Master General disclosed that the management will provide fund remittances to the people in the rural areas.
The Postmen were in high spirit as management kited them with new uniforms, shoes, and helmet and they commended the postmaster for revolutionising the postal service in Nigeria .
