The Institut français du Nigeria in partnership with Mambaah Bistro, organized the first edition of their new program dedicated to emerging talents in Abuja and the neighbouring states.

The program, called Monthly Art Club (MAC), held onn Friday 3rd of February, 2023 and will take place once a month at the Institut français du Nigeria/Mambaah Bistro.

Mrs Zainab Husseini Akwanga, founder and director of Mambaah Bistro said: “Showcasing emerging artists from Nigeria has always been a primary goal for both Mambaah and the French Institute. We are really happy to partner with the Institut français du Nigeria on this unique program which will, once a month, help emerging artists to connect, network and show their talent.”

The MAC was launched with a music concert performed by Godwin Gaza Josiah, popularly known by his stage name Godw3in, who is a singer and a songwriter from Kaduna. Godw3in broke into the music scene only last year, with his first album “Road to Nirvana’, which is an embodiment of emotions, carried by Godw3in’s deep baritone voice”, said Mathilde Lepert, Cultural Program Officer at Institut français du Nigeria.

Godw3in came with his band from Kaduna, accompanied by two amazing female singers. They gave a wonderful show that will remain in memory.

The first MAC event was adjudged to be a huge success, both for the artists and the organizers as over a hundred people were in attendance, encouraging the artist to sing new songs for a show that lasted about 1 hour 30 minutes.

Godw3in later said: “I’d never forget the 3rd of February 2023, I got emotional”.

Godw3in is a very promising artist, who is vowed to a long career as a musician, aside from his already established career as a filmmaker with The Critics Company in Kaduna. His audience is already looking forward to his next show, possibly in Lagos next month.

Institut français du Nigeria and Mambaah Bistro are already preparing for the next MAC events, which will include not only music concerts but also theatre performances, live podcasting, literature.
