Abuja-In spite of the economic hardship bedeviling Nigerians under the leadership of the All Progressive Congress, APC, there seem to be no end to the defection of PDP members into the party.

After formally receiving the former Governor of Ebonyi State, Martins Elechi on Thursday, the APC National leadership on Friday also played host to another PDP decampee, Marc Wabara who visited the party’s national Secretariat to formally make known his decision to join the APC.

Wabara, who is a brother to former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, was the Chairman/ Chief Executive officer of the defunct Hallmark Bank Plc, and Governorship aspirant in Abia State in the 2015 elections.

The National Chairman of the Party, Chief John Oyegun applauded Wabara’s decision to join the party at a time when the party is low on rating, saying that it proves him a man of passion with desire to assist the party to effect positive changes in the country.

“The APC believes in people of passion like you. You are coming in at a time when things are not looking good and you are willing to join forces with us and build it. You understand what needs to be done to help the country at a time like this. You are welcome to APC”, he said.

He described Wabara as a man of quality, with strength, knowledge to see to the future of a Nigeria that would lead the black race.

Wabara on his part, told Oyegun that his decision to join the party was informed by his belief in the principles of the APC, having seen the party perform creditably well despite the many challenges.

“I am convinced in my spirit; having watched APC perform these two years. And what they have been able to achieve these two years with the many challenges confronting the country, not many governments can do that.  So I Joined the party to be able to contribute my own quota to assist the party do more in the next two years”.

He jettisoned the idea of secession, saying Nigeria is better of as one nation, but however, called for dialogue so as to amicably find lasting solutions to the barrage of agitations from various segments of the country.

He said,”The issue of one Nigeria is best for all of us. I shall continue to stand by that. But I also say that it is very important that we sit down  as brothers and sisters and look into these various issues that have been the reason we have these agitations and find a way forward”.
