The Standards Organisation of Nigeria has carried out some redeployments at the directorate cadre of the organisation, so as reposition for improved performance.

The shakeup exercise saw the erstwhile Director in charge of Inspectorate and Compliance (ICD), Engr. Bede Obayi swap position with Engr. Obiora Manafa, Director, National Metrology Institute, Enugu.

A statement from the office of the Director General, Mr. Osita Aboloma, disclosed that the redeployments were in furtherance of the Federal Government’s reform vision and to further dynamize the operations of the different departments in SON.

Other directorate cadre deployments in the shakeup exercise include those of Engr. Chike Makwe, a Deputy Director from the Inspectorate and Compliance to Standards Development Directorate; Engr. Enebi Onucheyo, Assistant Director/Head, Product Registration Unit to the ICD while Mr. David Ikhenebome takes his position.

The statement stressed the resolve of the SON Management to constantly review and retool the agency’s operations, in order to ensure continual improvement in service delivery to stakeholders.

“This is in consonance with the dictum in standardisation, that quality is a moving target”, the statement concluded.
