NAF Promises Harmonious Relationship With The Media, Visits NTA

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has promised a continuous and harmonious working relationship with the media, so as to provide timely and accurate information to the general public on NAF engagements in the Northeast and other parts of the country.

 

Disclosing this on Thursday, the new Director of Information and Public Relations (DOPRI), Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya who paid a courtesy visit to the Director General Nigerian Television Authority, Abuja, said that NAF relies on the media to disseminate its activities.

 

He also noted that his planned visit to media houses, which started today with the NTA is very important in view of the relevant roles the media is playing in the development of the country.

 

Air commodore Adesanya stressed that the need for the NAF to renew its partnership with NTA towards national development was imperative.

 

According to him, “Being an agency of the government, the NAF is accountable to Nigerians and it is our duty to give them timely and accurate information on its activities. We are relying on media organisations like NTA to disseminate this information.’’

 

The DOPRI while promising mutual working relationship with the media, reiterated the NAF’s policy of not withholding public information, he as well, urged media practitioners to be patriotic by ensuring proper verification of facts for the overall
interest of the nation.

 

Responding,the Director General, NTA Abuja network station, Alhaji Yakubu Ibn Mohammed disclosed that NTA is ready to sustain the existing partnership with the NAF for the interest of nationhood.

 

Alhaji Mohammed used the opportunity to commend the efforts of the NAF and the Armed Forces in the fight against insurgency in the Northeast.

 

While applauding the commitment of the current NAF leadership to reposition the service into a highly professional and disciplined force, he assured the DOPRI of NTA’s readiness to exploit other areas of collaboration.

 

Meanwhile, the DOPRI is scheduled to visit other media houses in Abuja aside his visit to NTA.
