Abuja- The Director Of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force(NAF), Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya has disclosed that the media is indeed a major stakeholder in the battle against insurgency and other forms of criminalities in the country.
This is as he also tasked the media to continue being mindful of the Nation’s interest in its reportage of insurgency and militancy activities.
The DOPRI who made the disclosure on Tuesday When he paid a courtesy visit to Silverbird’s office in Abuja, expressed the NAF’s readiness to strengthen its partnership with the station to ensure timely dissemination of information on its activities to the general public, being mindful of the Station’s large followership, especially among the youths.
While noting that the media plays a vital role in national development, he stressed the need for collaborative effort, which would largely be in the area of media campaign so as to curtail the acts of terrorism, insurgency and militancy in the country.
In her response, the Business Manager of Silverbird Communications, Mrs Lola Oladimeji agreed that there is a need to strengthen the existing cooperation between the two parties, especially in the area of disseminating information to the general public.
Oladimeji assured the DOPRI that the media outfit is prepared to use its various platforms to disseminate NAF operations and activities to the general public.
The DOPRI who has not relented in his bid for a strong relationship with the Media since his appointment, continues to pay courtesy visits to other media organizations.
