Abakaliki: Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state on Monday effected a minor cabinet reshuffle.
To that effect, the former Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Sir Emmanuel Uzor was appointed as Special Assistant to the governor on fruits/foods market development, while Mr. Emmanuel Igwe who was formerly Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Documentation, is now reassigned as Special Assistant to the Governor on Parks Development.
Mr Francis Nwaze,Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Media is to take charge of New Media and Project Documentation,while Mr. Emeka Andrew Nwankwo,newly appointed as Special Assistant to the Governor is to head Information Communication Technology (ICT).
The changes take immediate effect, according to the governor.
Similarly,15 permanent secretaries including the Accountant General of the State, Mrs Ogonna Christiana Ngwuta was sworn in. This brings the total number of permanent secretaries appointed into the state civil service to 27.
Although, the newly sworn in Permanent Secretaries were earlier appointed in April this year, they were before now working as permanent secretaries designates.
Governor Umahi in his remark, charged the Permanent Secretaries to live up to expectations as Chief Accounting Officers of their various ministries, warning that indolence and poor performance,would not be tolerated.
He particularly warned them against delays in annual budget projections, just as he charged them to keep accurate account of every financial transaction that took place in their various ministries.
