Customers banking with Access Bank, were full of excitement, Friday, February 1, 2019 when the bank reversed the regular deductions of N20 whenever a customer uses the *901# short code.
The message which was circulated by the Bank, came on the heels of the report that was done by The Sight News with the headline “Must Read: Reasons You Lose N20 at Every Attempt to Use Access Bank Short Code *901#”.
The Bank on Friday, sent bulk messages to its customers, and this reporter, who also maintains an account with this bank, received the message that read: “No more fees! Our *901# service is now free of the N20 MTN session charge from February 1st 2019. Dial *901# now for easy banking”.
Speaking to some of the bank’s customers, they expressed excitement over the development and urged the bank to maintain the change for the benefit of its customers.
Recall that The Sight News story revealed that the Bank had told our reporter that the N20 charge was deducted by the Telecommunications service provider, MTN Nigeria.
Customers are however advised to report such issues to their banks rather than die in silence, as the customer still remains the king in any business.
